Windy fishing

Saturday 20 August 2011 at 08:28 am

Monster winds blowing all day have made fishing a high speed activity.  Drifting down a shoreline at super speed trying to pick off some fish.   I lost a big smallmouth at the boat in the morning, easily 4+ and poof, he got off.  Yes, a one that got away story.

In the end, got some largemouth on senkos before relaxing with a beverage.

Storm Warning

Monday 01 August 2011 at 6:53 pm

Fishing today was slow. 30C and windy. My new watch kept telling me about the pending storm based on a falling barometer. The storm has yet to arrive.

No fish pics.

Bass and Brookies

Monday 04 July 2011 at 10:31 am

Couple more outings this week.

Bass on Saturday which was also "prop polishing on a rock" day.

Brookie on a stick Sunday (caught by my friend Barb). High of 31, we hiked a short way into a remote lake, about a km, the trail was swampy but it was too hot for even the bugs. We did a few down loops of the small lake in the bright sunshine until finally this little fatso hit an inline spinner. Given  the heat, it was lucky we got even one.

Bass Season

Tuesday 28 June 2011 at 8:21 pm

Bass season has finally started in Ontario and my son and I were able to get out for a couple hours earlier this week.

Caught smallies and largemouth and some assorted panfish and a bunch of small pike. Nothing too big.

More lakers

Thursday 16 June 2011 at 10:45 pm

Small seems to be in this year. All I'm getting is 2 lb fish. No big ones.
